Ursula Mayerl
Our Family – Welcome to Haus Mayerl

At Haus Mayerl, we’re not just a family – we’re a multi-generational community, where everyone contributes with heart, skill, and personality. And that’s something our guests can feel the moment they arrive. Get to know us:

Hans – The Founder with Calm and Heart

Johann, affectionately known as “Hans,” is the cornerstone of our home. Together with his wife Uschi, he founded Haus Mayerl in 1979 and has been devoted to the well-being of both his family and our guests ever since. With his calm and warm-hearted nature, he offers a smile and a listening ear to all. He loves being outdoors – cycling or spending time with his five grandchildren around the house – always hands-on, cheerful, and young at heart.

Uschi – The Good Soul of the Garden and Decorations

Uschi brings life to every flowerbed, balcony, and decorative touch throughout our home. Her passion for plants, flowers, and beauty turns Haus Mayerl into a little paradise. As a grandmother with a big heart, she loves to pamper her grandchildren, welcome guests, and continue expanding her rich plant knowledge. Warmth, humor, and dedication – that’s Uschi.

Christian – The Carpenter with a Love for Wood and a Quiet Heart

Christian, the son of Hans and Uschi, is the steady and grounded member of the family. A trained carpenter, he has worked at the Auermühle sawmill in Ellmau since 2007 and loves working with wood – whether it’s garden furniture, decorative pieces, or structural renovations. Many projects, including the major renovations in 2002 and 2019, were planned and built by him. In his free time, you’ll find him out in nature with his dog Sia – hiking, cycling, or ski touring. If you're looking for special outdoor tips, he's your go-to guide.

Daniela – The Heart of the House: Warm, Clear, and Helpful

Daniela, Christian’s wife and Hans and Uschi’s daughter-in-law, is the creative, open-hearted hostess of our home. She manages administration and is the point of contact for all guest needs – whether you need a band-aid, a schnapps, or a listening ear. She is also an Evolutionary Educator, speaker, and coach, working with essential oils (Young Living), offering Raindrop treatments, and supporting people on their journey to self-empowerment.

Christian affectionately calls her his “little witch” – because she brings about change while others are still talking. That says it all.

Nicolas – A Technical Talent with Heart and Strong Roots

Nicolas, the eldest son of Christian and Daniela, dreamt of driving excavators, tractors, and loaders since he was a toddler. He followed this dream with determination: completing his apprenticeship as a machine and metal technician at Eggerwerk in St. Johann with success.

Since 2025, he has been working with the company Mauracher, where he operates heavy machinery on construction sites daily.

From the age of ten, he has helped a family friend manage a farm – mowing, haymaking, forestry, and caring for animals. This deep bond with nature has shaped him. In 2024, Nicolas ventured out on his own, living independently in Lower Austria for half a year. There he gained valuable work and life experience. Upon his return, he said something that touched us all:

“I didn’t realize how much I missed my homeland – and how beautiful it is when you speak and people simply understand you.”

A young man who knows where he comes from – and where he's going.

Nadja – A Fighter with Creativity and Clear Goals

Nadja is the daughter of Christian and Daniela – an animal lover, athlete, and visionary. At the age of ten, she was accepted into the Tyrolean Taekwondo Performance Center and competed in the 2021 Junior European Championships in Estonia.

In 2025, she successfully completed the Glass Technical School in Kramsach and also passed the Austrian entrepreneur exam with distinction. She is now preparing for her final two years of technical high school (A-levels) and plans to pursue a degree in structural engineering with the goal of becoming a certified civil engineering designer (Dipl.-Ing.).

Her love of photography, nature, and design shines through in every image she creates – and in everything she touches.

Sia – Our Four-Legged Hostess

Sia, our black-coated mixed-breed dog, may bark first, but she is all heart. Adopted by Daniela from an animal shelter, she is now showered with love and affection from all family members.

With her affectionate and watchful nature, Sia is an integral part of the Mayerl family – and a favorite among many of our guests.

This Is Us – The Mayerl Family

Genuine, warm, and connected to nature – with open arms for our guests.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our home!
